Jason Turoczi, 33,  of 63 Tide Mill Terrace of Fairfield  was arrested and charged by Greenwich Police with Larceny 3rd degree, Forgery 2nd degree and Insurance Fraud on Nov. 23 for an incident stemming back to Oct. 5 on North Water Street.

On Monday morning investigators from the Greenwich Police Department were at the Court House in Stamford on related matters when they learned that Mr. Turoczi would be getting off a Correctional Transportation bus arriving from Bridgeport Correctional Institution to answer for unrelated charges.

Greenwich Police had a non-extraditable felony warrant for Turoczi, who, according to the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch website, was charged by Darien Police with issuing eight counts of issuing bad checks and one charge of Larceny 5th back in May. He was also charged by Weston Police for multiple counts of Issuing bad Checks in May, Larceny and Forgery charges from Norwalk Police in October, a Larceny charge from Milford Police in December 2010, and charges from Wilton Police for Forgery, Larceny, Bad Checks and Identity Theft in May and June.

The original charges stemming from the Greenwich Police felony warrant were for Larceny 3rd degree, Forgery 2nd degree and Insurance Fraud. Turoczi was advised of the Greenwich Police warrant, arrested and taken into custody.

He was unable to post his bond of $2,916, and was assigned a court date of November 30 in Stamford Superior Court. Turoczi was then turned over to the state Judicial Marshals for same day arraignment.
